You see an image with fruits and nuts all mixed together and think: how beautiful, how healthy. It looks spectacular in a photo. But when you bring it to your plate, doubts appear: Why do I feel bloated after eating a mix of fruits? Can they really be mixed?
FRUIT COMBINATIONS
Fruit combinations are based on a very simple idea: not all fruits are equally well tolerated when mixed together, because each group of fruit has its own characteristics, which is why they are categorized.
There are sweet fruits, acidic fruits, semi-acidic fruits, and fats, such as nuts.
THE 4 MAIN GROUPS
As mentioned before, there are four groups: sweet, acidic, semi-acidic, and fats.
Many times people ask me on social media for the complete list of fruits according to these groups. In reality, it is very easy to find them: you can search for them on Google, or if you have purchased my book or one of my courses, I also share the full list there.
It is important to be aware that each fruit provides vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. Nuts are foods that contain a lot of fat, but it is considered good fat, which is ideal for helping the body function in the best possible way.
Be careful with fats. You can consume, for example, almonds or walnuts, but they should not be mixed with each other.
WHEN TO EAT EACH GROUP
Generally, within the Manniello Method, I recommend consuming two fruits per day.
Preferably semi-acidic and acidic fruits in the morning, before midday.
Sweet fruits can be consumed at any time of the day.
However, from 6:00 p.m. onwards (7:00 p.m. at the latest), I recommend not consuming fruit. Why? Because fruit increases blood glucose levels. Part of it is managed by the liver and converted into energy or stored as reserves, but another part, often the portion that is not used, can be converted into fat. For this reason, eating fruit at night is not recommended within this method.
COMBINATIONS THAT ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
It is important to combine fruits properly. Different fruit groups should not be mixed, because they produce fermentation.
Fermentation inside the body produces substances that generate toxins. These toxins can enter the bloodstream and potentially promote disease. That is why it is important to combine foods properly, especially fruits.
For example, if you have an apple (a sweet fruit) for breakfast, you can combine it with another type of sweet fruit to make it a good breakfast.
CONCLUSION
Fruit combinations can be summarized in three ideas:
Classify fruit by groups.
Respect timing: semi-acidic and acidic fruits in the morning; sweet fruits at any time of the day; avoid fruit after 6:00–7:00 p.m.
Avoid mixing different groups, because it produces fermentation.
